Abdul Aziz Al Ghurair

Abdul Aziz Al Ghurair is a businessman from the United Arab Emirates. He oversees the Abdullah Al Ghurair Group of Companies, which is a big business group in the Middle East. Their business stretches over 20 countries and has been around for a long time.

 

For almost 30 years, he led Mashreq Bank as its CEO. During his time, the bank grew from a small local one into a top financial institution in the region. It’s known for its focus on customers and for coming up with new and clever products and services.

 

From 2007 to 2011, he was part of the United Arab Emirates Federal National Council, which is like their parliament. He also served on the boards of several major companies like Emaar, Dubai Investments, Visa International, MasterCard, and others. He was even Co-Chairman of the Arab Business Council-World Economic Forum.

 

He was also involved in other important roles, like being a member of the Consultative GCC Council for the GCC Leaders, and he was the President of The Knowledge Fund. He was also part of the Board of Trustees of New York University, USA.

 

He studied Industrial Engineering at California Polytechnic State University, where he earned an Honors’ Degree.
